We are excited to announce that PDQ Cycle Coaching will be represented in BC and CTT races for the 2019 season. It is a multi-talented team, with team members spanning many age categories, disciplines and race category levels. The aim for the team for this season to see riders improve their race craft and progress through the race categories. We have a number of riders who have big goals for this year and are excited to see how far they can go in 2019.
First up, let’s introduce our para-cyclists. Joining the team will be Paralympian hopefuls Chris McDonald, Krispin Gardiner and David Walsh. With National medals under their belts they are looking to represent GB on the road and track, with the ultimate aim of riding at Tokyo 2020.
Senior Mens Road Race Team
We are fielding a young up-and-coming road race team looking to make a big impression in 2019. This team will be under the guidance of veteran racer and ex-international Jason Streather. Within this team we also welcome newly crowned Welsh Track keirin Champion Alasdair Brown. The team will look to work together to get some big results at local races this year.
Women’s Race Team
The womens race team is a small team with a diverse range of experince and strengths. Heading up the team will be ex-Elite rider, Marianne Streather (ne Britten) bringing her racing experience over several years, to develop some of the more novice riders. Joining her will be some upcoming talent on the road and track, from Welsh track medallist Becky Evans, and Masters Track National and European Medallist Jo Buckland, to a new kid on the block in Gemma Brooks, already showing some big numbers in training!
Master’s Track and TT Team
We have a strong representation on the Masters track and TT scene this year. Heading up the team will be Bob Symons, 12 and 24 hour specialist. Bob will be looking to win the regional BAAR for his age category, which he was unlucky to narrowly miss out on these last 2 years. The team has strength and depth, with several new riders joining for this season, to race in time trials and at the Masters National and World Track Champs.
