PDQ Race Series 2022

2022 PDQ Races Series: A 6-week series of Closed Circuit Racing this summer on Wednesday and Thursday evenings for 4th category and Master riders. The first 3 races in the series are being held on the purpose built 1.5km road circuit at the Odd Down Sports Ground, Bath, BA2 2PR. The last 3 races in the series are being held at Castle Combe Motor Racing Circuit, SN14 7EY.

To practice on the circuit for the races, you are more than welcome to come to our training sessions at Odd Down Cycle Circuit.

Dates of the series are as follows, bookable via BC website:

Week 1 – 25/5/22 (4th cat, Masters C+ Men) – Odd Down
Week 2 – 8/6/22 (4th cat, Masters C+ Men) – Odd Down
Week 3 – 22/6/22 (4th cat, Masters C+ Men) – Odd Down
Week 4 – 7/7/22 (3/4th cat, Masters C+ Men, Over 30s Women) – Castle Combe
Week 5 – 21/7/22 (3/4th cat, Masters C+ Men, Over 30s Women) – Castle Combe
Week 6 – 4/8/22 (3/4th cat, Masters C+ Men, Over 30s Women) – Castle Combe

The circuit will be open at 6.30pm for familiarisation of the circuit.

Race Program:

18:45 – 4th Category Riders – (45 mins)

19:45 – Masters C+ – (45 mins)

*All race durations and start times are subject to change due to factors including light and weather conditions, as well as the progression of other events in the program.

Entry fee via the British Cycling online entry system for all races is £15. The Day Entry fee will be £20. Online Entry will close the day before the event at midnight. Places in all races are available on a first come-first served basis and there is no guarantee of the availability of Day Entries.

Prizes:

For the 4th Category races there will be prizes for each race, it is not run as a series for the 4th category riders as the winning riders would be moving out of the category before the series was over.

For the Masters Men the prize money will be awarded based on overall position in the series with 6 rounds to count. No on the night prizes for the individual races, there are series prizes only. Prizes will be awarded as follows:

PDQ BMCR Odd Down Races 2022

This year we will host our first BMCR (British Masters Cycle Racing) Event at Odd Down Cycle Circuit on 17th September:

  • A & B category – 13:10 start – 45 minutes
  • C & D category – 14:10 start – 45 minutes
  • E+ category – 15:10 start – 45 minutes
  • V40+ Women – 15:11 start – 45 minutes

Time Trials and Hill Climbs

We always look to host two open 10 mile Time Trials each year and will be looking to put on a local monthly club time trial.

In conjunction with Salt and Sham Cycling Club and Chew Valley Cycling Club we are running a summer series of Club TTs at Odd Down Cycle Circuit, 1st rider off 6.31pm, sponsored by CarbotechLtd:

Our Open 10 mile TT will be held on the 17th July 2022 on course U44/10. Bookable via CTT website.

Our Hill Climb is being held at 8am on 25th September 2022 on the UH92, Chew Hill in Chew Magna near Bristol. Sign on will take place at Millenium Hall (High Street, Chew Magna, Bristol BS40 8SH). From there it is a very short ride to the bottom of Chew Hill (approximately 2 minutes)
